How to Travel to Boracay The Practical Way

This is the Second part of my blog, My First tour: Boracay, Philippines.

I will feature a walkthrough to travel to Boracay. Of course, we started by using Domestic flights via Cebu Pacific from Manila. I'm stressing the importance of carefully choosing the time of departure because if you are planning to travel during peak season (which we did), you may want to choose the  earliest time of the day due delays and traffic that may happen in the middle.

There are a lot of domestic airlines which you can choose from but the airlines that are budget-friendly are: Cebu Pacific Airways, Air Philippines. My tip: check the rates of these airlines the earliest possible for some promos! We got ours for Php 5k for two.  Our flight was about 1 hour and 05 mins.

Then we reached the Caticlan airport(The nearest Airport to Boracay Island). The airport is really small that you will never thought that a plane could land there. hehe.

To continue, we had to get public Tricycle (That's what we call it) You will definitely not miss it because the tricycle terminal is just right when you go out of the airport. We paid around 50 pesos for one ride. (the number of tricycle you will need depends on how many you are).  And then , We went to the Boat terminal. Some fees that we paid before you can ride the boat are: Php25 boat fee(1 pax), Php100 Terminal fee(1 pax) and Php75(1 pax) environmental fee. These are the rates as far as I remember.  :) After all of these, we headed to the Boat ride!!! it's pretty exciting. It takes around 12-15 mins to the island. Take you're cameras out for some photos!

Then, Finally we reached the Island of Boracay!! whew!! what a way to go! all of these travel are worthy anyway. Not finished yet though because we had to take another tricycle to the hotel for 100 Php. Then we reach officially the white beach of Boracay..

Our cost of travel? = Php 550 for two pax  versus the pickup from airport to hotel which the hotel offers for Php1,900.

My advise if you can do what we did, you will save a lot of money.

I hope this one help some people that are looking to cut their travel expenses.

Thank you for reading this blog. My next feature will be some Boracay Island fun  activities that we did. :)

Boracay Trip: The Garden Suite

Some people may be wondering where to go for a nice vacation. For others it would be easy because they travel a lot. As for someone like me who is just starting to feel what is like to be a tourist, please feel free to read my First Trip: On the island of Boracay, Philippines.

I find it hard to look for a recent article and reviews about Boracay  hotels so I hope this article would help people if they want to have a tour in Boracay. For the first part, I will feature the room that we stayed in. (First things first, we need to have a place to stay!) By the way our trip was schedule from May 25-28 2012.

So to start, We (me and my lovely girlfriend) made a booking with Boracay Beach Resort through AGODA.com. I'm so proud on my first trip, we got a Garden Suite. There are a lot of hotels and inns which you can check on but I got this great deal from Agoda, so we took it. At that time, it cost us around 15,000 php= $345 for a 4 days and 3 nights stay with FREE Breakfast everyday!. This rate is really good for suite. not mentioning that this hotel resort is located at the beach front. (See some images of the suite).

Here is the entrance of the Boracay Beach Resort. This was taken at the moment we arrived in the hotel which is around 1800 hours.

The Garden Suite: It has a mini living room which for me is spacious considering there's only two of us. (the room you need to be book should be based on how many you are in your group)

It has a 21 inch tv with Cable channels that will blow you away because it has a lot of channels from local tv to international cable tv such as CNN, ESPN, HBO, hkk and some other tv channels of other languages. Great!

To continue, just beside the living room is the Queen size bed! As you can see its really decent and nice, comfy, clean. :)

Below is the entrance to the bathroom and veranda.

Here's the veranda which is spacious as well. It has a bamboo designed clothes hanger for your wet clothes and towels.

There's a mini table and a nice seat where you can relax.
The bathroom!!! It comes with bath towels and small towels. Hair dryer and other toiletries.  What I also love about their toilet is the washer attached next to toilet bowl. It frustrates me whenever I find a toilet without it coz I prefer that than tissue paper. They also make up the rooms everyday or even upon request. (provided you didn't leave the Do not Disturb sign).

The shower type is rain shower which makes it better than a normal toilet. (sorry don't have a pic but it's up there. hehe)

Below is just another angle of the bathroom.

Please check the next blog to know how to travel to Boracay the most practical way.. I will show you how we did it and not spending so much plus the activities you can do in Boracay plus images of our trip together

Thanks for reading this blog, I hope it gives u some idea on what to look for when it comes on booking a hotel. :)
